Compelling Dialogue
Y’all mind if I rant a bit?
One of the fastest ways to pull me out of a story is through clunky dialogue. Now, to be fair, that’s a nebulous concept. What is “bad” or “unnatural” to me could read perfectly to someone else. Hell, my dialogue is certainly less than preferable for some people. But I wanted to open the conversation (pun intended) to the community and see if we might uncover more substantial indicators of “bad.”
Disclaimer:
These are my opinions as a reader and observations as a writer, but I’m just some weirdo on the internet. If you hate these thoughts, this thread just might not be for you, and that’s okay.

Unsurprisingly, I have a lot of thoughts on this and will be breaking dividing up into sections. Let's see if we can't make this easier to handle.

In a perfect world, this, too, is a conversation. A forum to broaden our perspectives. I'll eagerly admit that my opinions are a result of specific circumstances. If you have thoughts on this article, I'd love to engage in polite dialogues! These posts are likely to change and evolve as I do.
